Shared scale
How a team takes turns on one Bluetooth mews scale.
A FalconryScale Bluetooth scale is a piece of hardware: it can only hold a connection to one phone at a time. On a team, that means whoever is actually weighing a bird holds the scale, and everyone else waits their turn, the same way you'd hand a stopwatch around the mews.
How the hand-off works
The phone that's weighing stays connected while its weigh-in screen (or pairing, or Scale in Settings) is open. Once a weight is saved, or that screen closes, FalconryScale keeps the connection open for about 20 seconds in case the next bird is about to go on the scale, then disconnects so another phone can take over. Taking your phone to the background releases the scale immediately, rather than waiting out that window.
If your phone can't connect because another phone is already holding the scale, you'll see Scale busy or off: "Another phone may be using it. Close FalconryScale there, or wait a few seconds." FalconryScale keeps quietly retrying for a while; if it still can't connect, you get a Retry button.
See bluetooth-scale pairing for pairing a phone to your scale in the first place, and Shared birds for sharing the actual raptor records your team weighs.
