Roles and permissions
What each FalconryScale team role, Owner, Admin, Member and Viewer, can do.
Every team member has one of four roles. Here's exactly what each one can do:
| Can they... | Owner | Admin | Member | Viewer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| See raptors & records | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Weigh & log activity | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Edit raptors | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Invite & manage roles | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Billing & delete team | Yes | No | No | No |
A Viewer is handy for someone who only needs to check on the birds, a vet, for instance. A Member can weigh in and log activity and health entries on shared birds, but can't edit a bird's own details or invite anyone. An Admin has every right short of billing and deleting the team itself.
Breeding, marketplace listings, ownership transfer and deleting a bird always stay with the bird's own owner, whatever role a teammate holds on the team.
Admin is owner-granted only
Only the team's Owner can promote someone to Admin, whether by sending an admin invite or changing an existing member's role, and only the owner can change what an existing admin's role is. This keeps one accountable person deciding who else gets admin-level access; an admin managing invites and roles can't mint a peer admin.
Transferring ownership
From the member list, the owner can Transfer ownership to another member. The new owner must hold the Team plan themselves, since their plan is what pays for the team going forward. Once transferred, the former owner becomes an Admin.
Changing a role down
Lowering someone below Admin takes away rights they'd already used: any pending invite they'd sent is revoked, and if they can no longer edit raptors, any shared link they'd handed out on a teammate's bird stops working too. No one loses access to data they didn't mint themselves.
See Shared birds for how these roles apply bird by bird, and Invites for bringing someone onto the team.
