Shared birds

Share a raptor with your team, and what teammates can see and do with it.

Being on a team doesn't share anything by itself. Sharing happens bird by bird.

Sharing a bird

Open a raptor's profile and turn on Share with team: "Your team can see, weigh and log for this bird." Only the bird's owner, or a teammate with the Edit raptors right (an Owner or Admin), can turn this on or off. A bird can be shared with one team at a time, your own.

On the raptor list, use the All / Mine / Team filter to see just your own birds or just the ones shared with you. A bird shared by a teammate shows an owner chip with their name, so it's always clear whose bird it is.

What a role can do on a shared bird

The bird's own owner can always do everything with it. For everyone else, their team role decides:

  • Viewer: see the bird and its records
  • Member: also weigh in and log activity, feeding and health entries
  • Admin and Owner: also edit the bird's own details

Breeding, marketplace listings, deleting the bird and transferring it always stay with the bird's actual owner, never a teammate, whatever role they hold.

Every weigh-in, activity or health entry a teammate logs on a shared bird is still kept under the bird's own owner for history and quotas, but shows Weighed by {name} or Logged by {name}, so it's always clear who actually did it.

Pro features follow the team's plan

If the bird's owner holds Pro or Team, Pro-gated behaviour on that bird, like seeing more than the free plan's recent history, applies for every teammate who weighs or logs on it, even one on the Free plan themselves. Your own private birds stay on your own plan.

If the team's plan lapses

If the team owner's Team plan lapses past its 7-day grace period, the team goes read-only: teammates keep view access to shared birds, but can't weigh, log or edit until the owner renews.

Leaving, removal, and deletion

If a member leaves the team, is removed, or deletes their account, their own birds simply stop being shared, nothing about them is deleted. If the team itself is deleted, every bird shared on it unshares the same way. A bird always stays with whoever added it.

See Shared scale for how a team hands off one Bluetooth scale between phones, and Roles and permissions for the full rights table.
