Add a raptor

Adding a bird to your mews.

Tap Add raptor from your roster. Only Name and Species are required to get started, everything else can be filled in now or later.

Identity

  • Name and, optionally, a photo.
  • Species, searchable by name or browsed by family. If your bird is a cross, switch to the Hybrid tab to build it from 2 or 3 parent species, with optional percentage shares and a custom name.

Acquisition

Choose how you got the bird: Captive bred, Wild trapped (under licence), Rescued or rehabilitated, From a breeder or falconer, From another falconer, or Other.

Identification

All optional: Ring / band number, Microchip number, and Transmitter frequency. The ring number also appears on the bird's profile and on exported documents, so it's worth adding if you have it.

Flying weight and first weight

You can set a flying weight now or later. Adding a first weight here sets the baseline FalconryScale uses for trends and readiness, so it's worth doing even if you leave the flying weight for later.

Sharing with a team

If you're on a Team plan, toggle Share with team so your teammates can see, weigh and log for this bird.

The 3-raptor limit on Free

The Free plan keeps up to 3 active raptors. Once you're at the limit, Add raptor prompts you to upgrade to Pro for unlimited raptors. Sold, deceased, released or archived birds, and any you've deleted, don't count toward this limit, only active ones do.
