Daily weigh-in

Logging a weight, and reading the weigh-in checklist.

The weigh-in checklist

The Weights tab (Weigh-in on the web) is your morning checklist. It shows who's Still to weigh and who's already Weighed today, with each bird's flying range underneath its name. Once every bird has a weigh-in for the day, you'll see Every bird weighed.

Tap Weigh on any bird, or tap Weigh from the top of the screen to be asked Who's on the scale? and pick from your still-to-weigh list.

Logging a weight

  1. Choose the raptor, if you didn't already tap into one.
  2. Choose an input method: Manual to type the number, or Scale to pull it straight from a paired Bluetooth scale (see Bluetooth scale).
  3. Set the stomach state: Empty or Fed. Empty weights are the ones used for GPH calculations, so weigh before the first feed of the day whenever you can.
  4. Enter the weight. If a number looks unusually low for the bird's species, FalconryScale asks you to confirm it before saving, in case a digit went missing.
  5. Optionally expand More details to set the date and time (defaults to now), the food item if the bird was fed, the weather, and any notes.
  6. Tap Save.

After you save

The result screen shows the new weight against the last one and against the bird's flying range, plus a one-line insight: Good to fly today, Needs a bigger feed, or Consider a lighter feed, with a suggestion for tonight's feed. From there you can Add details, Log activity, or move straight to weighing the next bird.

If you're offline when you save, the weigh-in is kept on your phone and synced automatically once you're back online, nothing is lost.

On the web

The web app's Weigh-in page works the same way: pick a raptor, enter a weight and stomach state, and save.
