How a marketplace sale and ownership transfer work in FalconryScale today, and what's coming.

Rolling out

The marketplace is rolling out gradually. If you don't see Marketplace in the app yet, it isn't on your account yet. Check back soon.

In-app transfers are coming

Sales and ownership transfer inside the app aren't available yet. Agree the details with the other party in your conversation for now. A checklist so the bird's record can move with her is planned.

No money ever moves through the app

FalconryScale has no payment flow, on either an asking price or an accepted offer. Payment is always arranged directly between buyer and seller, off-platform. This isn't a current limitation, it's by design: the marketplace is zero commission, always.

Today: arrange the sale in your conversation

Once an offer is accepted, or you've otherwise agreed a price in a listing's conversation, sort out deposit, paperwork and handover between yourselves, the same way falconers always have. The seller can mark the listing Sold from My listings afterwards, optionally naming you as the buyer, so there's a record on their side.

If you'd like to be told when in-app transfers ship, tap Notify me when it's ready on the conversation's transfer banner.

What's planned

FalconryScale's own in-app copy describes what a completed transfer will do once it ships: both sides work through a shared Transfer checklist,

  • Deposit arranged
  • Paperwork exchanged (CITES / transfer forms)
  • Bird handover arranged

and then each confirms their side (the buyer confirms they've received the bird and her paperwork, the seller confirms they've handed them over). Once both confirm, the bird's full record, her weight curve, health log and documents, moves to the buyer, and ownership moves for good. That step can't be undone, which is why both sides are shown exactly what will transfer (weigh-ins, health entries, documents, each counted) before confirming.

Until that ships, nothing about ownership is enforced by the app. Transfer it the way you always have, and keep your own paperwork for CITES and any other legal requirement that applies to you.
